Christopher P. FitzMorris, D.O.
Dr. FitzMorris
has been a practicing Orthopedic surgeon in rural Maine and
New Hampshire since 1995. He graduated from
the New
York College of Osteopathic Medicine as class vice resident in
1989 and won the Community Medicine Award for work in Forensic
Pathology at the Nassau County (NY) Medical Examiners office.
He was Intern of the Year at Penninsula Hospital Center and completed
his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the Penninsula Hospital/Cabrini
Medical Center combined program in New York City, which included
orthopedic trauma at St. Vincent’s Hospital and pediatric
orthopedics at the A.I. duPont Institute in Wilmington, Delaware.
He is a diplomate of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical
Examiners. He is board certified by the American Osteopathic
Board of Orthopedic Surgery and now serves as a Senior Clinical
Examiner for the board. He has served as an Adjunct Clinical
Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the New England College of
Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine.
Dr. FitzMorris is a member of the New Hampshire Medical Society,
New Hampshire Osteopathic Association, American Osteopathic
Association, American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics and
Maine Society of Orthopedic Surgeons.
Dr. FitzMorris practices general orthopedic surgery and has
a special interest in joint replacement surgery, minimally invasive
arthroscopic surgery including shoulder, elbow, wrist, knee and
foot/ankle as well as fractures and others orthopedic and sports
injuries.
Dr. FitzMorris’ personal
interests include Nordic skiing, golf, hunting, fishing and
spending quality time with
his wife,
Barbara, and five children.
